Software Architect / Team Lead

As the only company in our industry offering this combination at scale, we are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Architect / Team Lead to help shape the future with us.

About the role

As a Software Architect / Team Lead, you’ll work in a multidisciplinary team of 14 professionals to develop high-quality software solutions. The software is used in a production environment to analyze ultrasonic measurement data and provide inspection reports to our clients in the oil and gas industry.

You will lead a core team of 7 colleagues based at our headquarters in Tricht, while also collaborating closely with remote team members in Serbia and Canada.

You switch easily between strategic thinking and hands-on contribution. You oversee system architecture, safeguard the technical direction, and foster collaboration within your team and with stakeholders across the globe.

You bring broad experience, ideally over 10 years across a variety of industries, preferably in regulated environments such as aerospace, defense, oil & gas, or the medical sector. You thrive in the fast pace of both startups and larger organizations and know how to manage risk without stifling innovation.

Who are we looking for?

  • You hold a postgraduate degree in computer science / electrical engineering / software engineering. and have at least five years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • You are comfortable with full stack development and cloud computing and can program fluently in multiple languages. You understand the importance of user experience and have an affinity for UI/UX design.
  • You know how to implement CI/CD pipelines, have a good understanding of Azure DevOps, are familiar with working in agile or hybrid project structures, and preferably have knowledge of databases.
  • You communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, and are able to convincingly explain technical decisions to various stakeholders.
  • You have worked in a matrix organization and are comfortable managing multiple stakeholders, communication channels, and expectations.
  • Product development experience with embedded systems is preferred, specifically with measurement and sensor systems. Recent success in leading the creation of data analysis software is ideal.
  • You take ownership of the quality of the end product and are not afraid to challenge the status quo.
  • With a high level of emotional intelligence, you know how to coach team members, build consensus, and keep projects moving, even when circumstances change.

What will you do?

  • In this role, you will co-design the software architecture, align technical strategies with business objectives, and bring structure to our development projects.
  • You will lead architecture discussions, contribute to sprint planning and design sessions, and help resolve technical challenges.
  • You’ll also evaluate new tools and technologies, collaborate with our global IT department on security and compliance, and help us stay innovative.
  • You will actively contribute to translating business needs into technical solutions and serve as a mentor to your colleagues.

You will receive a gross monthly salary between €5,922 and €7,617 (based on a 40-hour workweek, with opportunities for further growth). Statutory provisions such as travel allowance are well arranged. Depending on company performance, you may receive a year-end bonus.
