Mechanical Robotics Engineer

Due to our rapid growth, Intero Integrity Services is hiring for a Mechanical Robotics Engineer in our Toronto location.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Team Lead, Mechanical Engineering, and regularly interfaces with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software engineers, testers, and project managers to bring cutting-edge solutions to market.
Position Summary
The Mechanical Robotics Engineer has a solid foundation in engineering fundamentals, loves a technical challenge, has a creative mindset and takes a logical and analytical approach to problem-solving.
This role operates in a project-based environment, requiring you to actively participate in project planning, task scheduling and time management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate concepts of mechanical systems
- Produce detailed designs of mechanical systems
- Produce engineering calculations related to performance, strength, life, etc.
- Produce manufacturing, assembly, and test documentation
- Report writing and client presentations
- Assembly and testing of equipment
What you should bring to the team
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of mechanical engineering experience with 2 years in either Oil & Gas services, Automotive, Medical or Aerospace industries
- Ability to isolate design variables through a combination of experience, testing and analysis
- Solid engineering fundamentals
- Machine design and assembly experience
- Proficient with SolidWorks
- Proficiency in the use of quality and improvement tools such as root cause analysis and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Thrive in a cross-disciplinary team-based environment
- Take initiative and manage multiple tasks in a timely fashion

- Experience in NDT of pipelines
- Experience with robotics and motion control systems
- Experience with early prototyping
- Machine shop skills
- Technical writing and presentation skills
