Case Study: Heavy-Wall Pipeline Inspection in Extreme Terrain
We successfully inspected a 30” heavy-wall natural gas pipeline in a remote mountainous region, an environment where conventional MFL tools could not operate. By combining UT Phased Array technology with specialized nitrogen services, the team overcame steep elevation changes, lack of water supply, and demanding logistics.
Within just three weeks, the pipeline was cleaned, inspected, dried, and safely recommissioned, achieving zero incidents and delivering high-resolution wall thickness and geometry data for seamless integration into the operator’s Integrity Management System.
