
Regional Manager, UT Data Analysis

Position Summary
To support our Americans Region Ultrasonic (UT) Data Analysis growth, we are adding a newly created UT Data Analysis Manager position located in our Houston office. This role is pivotal to ensure our data analysis contributes effectively to the success of projects by ensuring timely delivery, maintaining high standards, fostering collaboration, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Leadership
- Manage, coach, and inspire the UT data analysis team for the Americas region, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
- Drive the growth & development of the team through Intero’s Talent Management Plan -- regular check-ins, annual performance evaluations, goal setting, and providing continuous development.
- Conduct workforce planning to address short and long term capacity for the region to the DA UT Management team.
Customer Orientation
- Be the go-to expert for customers, handling communications via in-person meetings, phone calls, emails, and video conferences.
- Stay updated on American regulatory frameworks (DOT, PHMSA, etc.) to continuously develop customer profiles.
- Collaborate and support the UT DA pre-sales and after-sales teams, in the acceptance of scope of work from tenders, and the resolution of investigation from customer inquiries, respectively.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Integrity Engineering departments to ensure data analysis is integral to project success.
- Partner with integrity engineers for advanced analysis reporting, including fitness for service (FFS) and corrosion growth assessments (CGA).
Project Management & Presentations
- Coordinate project priorities and deadlines to ensure quality and timely delivery of reports.
- Support Project Managers with final report presentations and ensure data analysis contributes to project milestones.
Quality Assurance
- Oversee the quality control and approval of all reports, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Provide quality control for non-standard and complex data analysis cases.
Data Analysis Excellence
- Perform and support data analysis for tool specification validation.
- Assist in data analysis-related activities.
Standards and Procedures
- Contribute to the alignment and establishment of Data Analysis QA standards with the Data Analysis management team.
Training and Development
- Assist in developing and maintaining training materials to meet industry standards (API 1163 and ANSI/ASNT ILI-PQ-2023).
Required Skills
- Superior collaborative communication skills to effectively deliver technical messages to a variety of stakeholders
- Above average presentation skills to effectively create technical content in support of storytelling to engage audiences
- Expertise in American Regulatory framework (DOT, PHMSA) is required
- Strong understanding of industry codes and standards
- Deep understanding of compression wave UT Data life cycle
- Strong and extensive track record in the analysis of UT compression wave data and geometry (GEO) for pipelines
- Experience in the analysis of UT compression wave data and geometry (GEO) for Heaters/Furnaces is a plus
- Understanding of ILI tool specifications in the market
- Deep understanding correlating analysis results to inspection data from previous inspections, other technologies, and verification digs
- Self-driven capacity to produce quality work with minimal supervision
- Above average skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and interpretive skills required
- 10+ years data analysis experience with compression wave UT technology
- 5+ years of experience in management/supervisory roles with strong track record of developing technical teams
- Experience in data management role
Education & Certifications
- ANSI/ASNT ILI-PQ-2023 Level 3 UT/GEO, Data Analysis certification is necessary.
- ANSI/ASNT ILI-PQ-2023 Level 2 / Level 3 Mapping, Data Analysis certification is preferred.
- Academic background with proven proficiency in basic physics and mathematics is needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred, other Bachelor’s degrees will be considered or requisite related technical experience.
- Master’s degree in exact sciences is a plus.
Additional Skills
- Ability to travel as needed for customer meetings
- Experience in analysis of inertial mapping (IMU) pipeline inspections is a plus.
- Previous experience leading and collaborating across a global organization
- Proficiency in programming, and/or data base administration is a plus
- Proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese (Brazil) is a plus
- Quality improvement experience or Six Sigma certification is a plus
