We are seeking an experienced strategic Director for our Toronto based MFL Robotics Inspection Services business unit to lead and grow our business expansion which specializes in difficult to inspect pipeline inspections.
This role is responsible for the service line profit and loss (P&L), leadership of the MFL robotics business employees base (100+ employees), and will drive revenue growth, operational excellence, and market expansion across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Business Leadership & Growth
- Refine and execute a growth strategy to expand services for the MFL Robotics services.
- Ensure profitability through effective cost management and operational efficiencies.
- Align regional strategies with global objectives, ensuring successful collaboration across different business functions.
- Develop short-term and long-term service strategies to successfully deliver technology to growing global customer base.
Commercial & Customer Strategy
- Drive business development, customer acquisition, and retention strategies.
- Build strong relationships with key clients, industry stakeholders, internal cross-functional teams and partners.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, partnerships, and key accounts.
- Work within a global matrixed structure, collaborating with the global leadership team, supporting the rest of world MFL robotics inspection services in operations and technology development.
- Position the Company as a leader in robotic inspection through innovation and service excellence.
Operational & Financial Management
- P&L ownership, ensuring delivery of financial profit and loss targets, including CapEx & OpEx. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and financial performance for the business unit.
- Optimize operational processes and resource allocation to improve efficiency and global service delivery for maximum customer impact.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing growing team, including commercial, operations, and technical functions.
- Demonstrate company values.
- Balance regional needs with global company goals.
- Foster a results-driven, customer-centric, and safety-first culture.
- Develop the team with the skills, training, and capabilities to deliver success and grow with the business.
- Serve as the Ontario site leader, acting as the role model across the multi-functional site.
Market & Industry Engagement
- Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, customer engagements, and recruiting events.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in service offerings, by leveraging scalable, repeatable, quality processes.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Proven leadership experience in a Director, General Manager, or similar senior or executive role(s).
- Strong P&L management experience, with a track record of driving business growth and delivering on commitments.
- Proven experience leading and developing large high-performing teams.
- Experience working in a global matrixed organization, collaborating across multiple functions & business units.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to develop and execute sales and market expansion strategies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in technology or business from accredited university.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Deep understanding of pipeline and industrial asset inspection technologies.
- Experience in critical infrastructure sectors, energy, industrial services, or robotic inspections.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) from accredited university.
Work Environment & Travel
- This role is based in the Intero Integrity Services office in Ontario, Canada
- Travel required across the region (and occasionally outside the region) for customer engagement and operational oversight.
