Highlight

Intero successfully inspected two parallel natural gas pipelines without installing a receiver, delivering high-quality integrity data while reducing cost, excavation, and operational risk.

The client needed to inspect two parallel natural gas pipelines (20" and 12") terminating at a station without a receiver. Conventional pigging was not feasible, and installing a receiver would have required significant excavation, roadworks, and associated cost.

With uncertainties in pipeline records, the condition of the lines was not fully known. A barred tee and capped end were present, and the risk of a stuck pig was considered high, potentially leading to complex and disruptive retrieval operations.

At the same time, maintaining schedule certainty and minimizing operational impact were critical to project success.
