With no room for delays and high nitrogen demand across simultaneous operations, Intero deployed a high-capacity supply system including a 20,000 m³/h vaporizer unit, keeping all units stable and synchronized throughout.

The client needed to inspect a critical 12-inch water intake pipeline connected to a centrifugal pump and retention pond. The pipeline included both submerged and buried sections beneath a dike, creating major accessibility challenges.  Conventional inspection methods were not viable because the system had no upstream isolation. Any failure between the intake and the pump isolation valve could have caused uncontrolled drainage of the pond, creating environmental and operational risks. In addition, the pipeline had no receiver setup, making standard pigging impossible.

Intero implemented a fully integrated and centrally coordinated execution approach, ensuring all activities were aligned and optimized. A temporary high-capacity nitrogen supply system was deployed to guarantee stable and continuous flow across all units. This included a large fleet of equipment operating simultaneously, ranging from a 20,000 m³/h nitrogen vaporizer unit (NVP-20) to multiple steam and ambient vaporizers, as well as temporary storage tanks.

Outcome

All shutdown activities were carried out safely and without incidents. The nitrogen supply remained stable throughout multiple parallel operations, and cooldown, inerting, and inspection were all completed within the planned schedule. Equipment damage was prevented through controlled cooling and careful process management, while efficient coordination kept downtime to a minimum.
